Key Steps to Prevent Tooth Plaque
While running your tongue along the front of your teeth, you feel as limy coating. It is due to buildup of bacteria, which is known as plaque. If these bacteria stick around for too long, it will damage your teeth and gums. Here are some steps which help you secure your teeth from damage:
- Brush your teeth twice a day with soft-bristled toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste. You should make sure that you brush all the areas of your mouth with your toothbrush, including teeth, gums, tongue, and the insides of your cheeks.
- Use floss for cleaning between your teeth everyday. Besides this, you can also use inter-dental brushes, floss aides, or water- or air-flossing devices.
- Use of regular mouth rinse helps in preventing plaque buildup more than just brushing and flossing alone.
